ZTE MF70, Modem That Can Be MiFi
The need for connection to the virtual world seems more higher. Not infrequently the user has more than one device capable of connecting to the Internet, ranging from computers, laptops, mobile phones, tablet till multimedia devices with WiFi capabilities ie iPod or other MID (mobile Internet devices).
Not only its devices, data services that actively used also can more than one for the different devices. But there is always solution to outsmart it, for example you can use MiFi device that can provide internet line via Mobile WiFi to several different devices in one time.
For that, ZTE bring innovation that combines USB modem device and Mi-Fi via its products ZTE MF70.
Installation and Configuration
Like most modem that are currently available, ZTE MF70 installation fairly easy because has adopted plug and play system. This means you don’t need bother to install the drivers manually. You simply connecting MF70 your to the computer USB slot and the drivers will be installed automatically.
If the installation process runs properly, your computer will automatically open browser program that has been set as the default browser which will display the home page.
If nothing happens, run the browser on computer then enter the address http://192.168.0.1 or http://m.home.
Next enter the password in the column that provided. The default password is admin.
Next you will be redirected to the main screen (home) of webGUI configuration. On the home screen, the browser presents a number of information including the duration since MF70 connected to the internet, as well as download and upload speed (transfer rate). And if there is, this page also will show information on how many devices that connected to MF70 via WiFi.
Phonebook and SMS Features
Besides the home appearance, webGUl which is presented also provides access to a number of features that owned MF70. Those features presented in 5 tab (not including home) that lined up to the right side. Each one is phone book, SMS, SD card, settings and status.
As you know, MF70 allows users to continue using SMS function over cellular networks of SIM card that installed in MF70. The trick with clicking on the SMS tab and the browser will display webGUI pages.
For ease of use SMS feature, MF70 also includes phonebook features, thus when will send SMS, the user simply find the targeted contacts from the phonebook.
To connect to internet via WiFi data lines that owned MF70, previously you have to connect your device into MF70 WiFi network. You can connect up to 10 devices with WiFi capabilities into MF70 at the same time. And of course the internet speeds which obtained will be divided into several lines that accordance to the number of connected devices.
By default, MF70 already has WiFi SSID (Service Set Identifier) and WiFi key that is printed on the inside of MF70 body. This part can be accessed by opening the access cover into microSD and SIM card slot.
Without Internal Resources
Despite its capabilities as mobile router or MiFi but MF70 not equipped with resources or internal battery. This makes MF70 can only active when connected to computer USB slot or other resources such as portable power supply (power pack).
