Sony Xperia J, Relieved Screen + Tempting Illumination
Timescape, Facebook and Twitter status collector, still be Sony weapon to ease activities in social media. This feature placed on the home screen; by default, its location one window to the left from the main window of home screen.
Despite are summarized like that, we still able to access Facebook and Twitter as usual because in the menus still available those application. From the operating system itself there are Google+ with its Messenger.
So what’s the difference from other Xperia series? Notice at the bottom of the body. When there is new SMS, email, Facebook update, Twitter update or otherd, those part will be glow. Cool! isn’t it?
Xperia J armed with Android Ice Cream Sandwich. There are no signs of upgrade to Android Jelly Bean. Personal opinion, indeed should be prepared minor improvements only rather than upgrade that actually makes its performance decreases.
Because its processor only 1 GHz, with 4 GB flash memory and 512 MB RAM. The results of Antutu benchmark, Quadrant Standard, Nenamark 2 and Velloma currently normal.
While battery of Li-Polymer 1700 mAh its energy ran out after 1.5 days with fairly intensive activities (read: frequent checks and status updates, blog, upload photos and videos, often SMS, listen to music a few hours).
Bluetooth smoothly exchange files with other devices. Seeing the price, naturally there was no HDMI, especially NFC. Storage can be enlarged with microSD; its slot support up to 32 GB capacity.
Application typical of Sony which seen are Music Unlimited, Movies, TrackID, Walkman, Music & Videos, PlayNow, Recommender, and Walkman. Music Unlimited connected to cloud service of Sony music. While Movies connected to Gracenote database for movie synopsis.
Music player equipped equalizer thus audio can be polished according our preferences. There’s FM radio, but its features normal. This also can only on when earphones plugged in the audio jack.
Not find application store besides Play Store. In addition to applications typical of Sony, additional applications that are visible only OfficeSuite.
There are also LiveWare manager; which if is updated will become Smart Connect. This is the manage of connectivity and streaming with other DLNA devices.
Xperia J already support HSPA; means that it already high speed internet access. Of course, in reality depends on its operator network conditions. Internet operator setting already instantly recognizable and easy to reset if necessary.
Besides browser, find existence of Chrome as browser. With internet access via WiFi that more stable, a website page was open perfectly average of 15 seconds in the browser nor Chrome.
WiFi Internet access can be shared with other devices via Tethering & portable hotspot.
DESIGN & SCREEN
Homescreen default there are five, and all of undergo modification typical of Sony. One of them of course includes Timescape. Sony still provide 7 extra theme and a number of Live wallpaper as well Xperia wallpaper that can be used.
Although there was no technology that was added to the screen, the color and clarity which display it may given a thumbs up. This capacitive touch screen indeed a depth of 16 million colors thus the colors still able to perform brilliantly.
Xperia J appearance reminiscent of design of Xperia arc/Xperia arc S that slim body with thinning curves in the middle. This thinnest part which size of 9 mm.
In the units that held, the surface of rear case seems glowing like a pearl. Globally Sony prepare 4 colors, namely black, white, pink and gold. Not Yet confirmed what color will be released in Indonesia.
4 inch screen looks wider because its glass fused with the frame. On the bottom screen side seen touch panel of Back, Home and Menu. While on the top side of screen there is front camera near the speakers.
The contents of screen can still be seen well even though under the blazing sun. There are automatic Brightness. Gorilla Glass makes the glass screen anti-scratch. The touch screen very responsive when is swept.
5 MP main camera located on the back with LED flash. There was extra speakers in the area below. 2 ways volume buttons on the right body, along with the Power button. Still on those side, further down, there is a gap that can pried to open the case. Micro USB port on the left body, while 3.5 mm audio jack on top of body.
5 MP camera follows the standard camera phones today. LED flash considered bright; though still need a strategy so that we can get maximum results.
There’s no camera button. But there is a shortcut on the lockscreen so we can directly open the camera. Unfortunately has a little slow response. We also rely on the touch shutter for operation.
Photos of the main camera often less sharp; can visible after being shown on a computer screen. Need to honing instinct to combine Focus mode and Metering to get better results. On the moving objects, practice increases more with Sports mode so that the results sufficient. The shots in the dark condition often blurry, even tough already maximizes Night scene. Sweep Panorama become separate option.
In video there are also Focus mode features and Metering, but its options are less. Video size can be selected between VGA, QVGA or Multimedia message.
Photos or video can be shared to various media, including Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Picasa for photos, and Facebook, Google+, and YouTube for video. We also can to other devices via Play on device.
